The library at Sawtell Public School is central to learning. Children have opportunites throughout the week to visit for both formal lessons and recreational reading. The library provides modern, quality books and resources which stimulate and motivate. Its program aims to develop in all students a love of reading so that they become life-long learners.
The Teacher-Librarian is Ms Julie Turnbull. The library is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. In 2012, it is also open on Friday.
You can read more about the role of the library at the MySchool Library: What every parent should know website.
The information skills process is taught throughout the school year, and at varying levels, according to the children's development. There are many opportunities for students to develop these life-long skills.
In these modern times, more and more we are relying on digital tools to enhance this process.
